Visual Update of Science Illustrated Magazine
Medill's Magazine Innovation Project partnered with Bonnier Corporation to create viable brand extensions for one of its recently acquired magazine, Science Illustrated. As design director, I was responsible for creating the clean, streamlined design philosphy of the magazine prototype while incorporating elements of the current magazine. A News Graphics and Design class I took my second quarter at Medill really sparked my interest in design. This class gave me a good foundation in understanding how multiple elements--color, typography, spacing--can form great, informative design for readers.
